"THE JOURNEY"...

An installation accepted in the Print Council of Aotearoa Exhibition at Pataka Gallery 2017, called "Boundless."
The brief was to create interdisciplinary sculptures and installations "Out of the frame"
A meandering two - sided print represents a walk or a journey. On one side, the marks represent the outside world…expectations, influences and constraints of society and family; whilst the other side is the representation of a busy mind, full of thoughts and decisions, and has the words from the poem by Robert Frost “The Road Not Taken”, running through it.
Looking through the holes affords glimpses of other possibilities that represent the choices that ultimately make up ones life journey. A selection of choices has been made into another “journey” in the video that accompanies the main installation.
The meandering trails of circles represent discarded choices, connected by thread, to suggest that together they could have made up alternative journeys…thus “The Road Not Taken”.
The map of Victoria gives a sense of place, and the road markings reinforce the idea of a journey with different roads to take.

visible Layers...The Fern Series
This series was inspired by walks in our Native forests, observing layers of Brackens and Ferns that regenerate the forest floor.
I was exploring the interaction of the colours between the layers, giving the work a dimensional quality.
The prints are postcard size - 10 x 15 cm, as they were part of a collaborative print exhibition between New Zealand and Australian printmakers.

Horizons
An exploration Of above and Below
as Far as the eye can see
The series was an attempt to provide a simultaneous perspective of the landscape....
On the surface, the view is as far as the eye can see, but there is also a hidden profile beneath the surface...
Monotype printed textures collaged onto spectacle lenses. The spectacle case is enclosed in a slipcase made from maps.
